International Foundation Manifesta made a research site visit to Cornwall in September as Cornwall prepared to make a bid to host Manifesta in Cornwall in 2014

Artists, independent Curators, local government officers, and arts organisations were invited to a “social” event to meet the 4 Board Members and Executive Director of IFM

International Foundation Manifesta was represented by:
Hedwig Fijen (Executive Director), Marieke Sanders, Fabio Cavallucci (Co-ordinator Manifesta 7), Iara Boubnova (Curator Manifesta 4) and Andreas Hapkemeyer (Co-ordinator Manifesta 7)

Manifesta is a biennial visual art event that began as a Dutch initiative to create a pan- European platform for the contemporary visual arts. Unlike most biennials, Manifesta is held in a different location each time it's held, and the concept of an itinerant event first took shape in Rotterdam in 1996Manifesta offers a platform for emerging artists, on the basis of a networking organisation, which is able to respond flexibly to new artistic, technological and cultural developments. Each new edition aims to establish a close dialogue between a specific cultural and artistic situation and the broader context of European visual contemporary art.  www.manifesta.org
